The Training Pod Nurse role supports our primary care workforce to gain knowledge, skills and confidence to undertake their role in General Practice.
Working alongside practices creating and delivering training, for example, cytology and immunisation programmes, our Training Pod Nurse Eva provides clinical supervision and helps in any areas where people need extra support.
You can contact Eva at: eva.richardson@nhs.net
“Eva has been so patient, caring and kind and has so much knowledge and experience to share. She has been amazing in training me in my phlebotomy course and diabetic foot checks.
Eva was very supportive and took time explaining and showing me how to take bloods.”
Sarah Vickers: Frailty and Care Homes Care Co-ordinator, Stalybridge, Dukinfield & Mossley Primary Care Network
“I started in practice nursing 18 months ago and was very overwhelmed with the difference from secondary to primary care. Eva has been invaluable during this time, she has mentored and supported me through cytology training, immunisations and all aspects of primary care. She is always at the end of the phone to help support me, advise me and answer questions. Most importantly for me, she will come and sit in my clinics to offer me support and reassurance when I need it.”
Emma Holroyd: Practice Nurse, Market Street Medical Practice
The Training Pod Nurse Programme is funded by the Greater Manchester Feds. This is a collaboration made up of a group of GP Federations working together and providing Primary Care support and services, from across Greater Manchester, including Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, and Wigan.
