New TEMPLE Programme for 2025

Greater Manchester Training Hub Log

Tameside Enhanced Multi-professional Learning Experience (TEMPLE) is a new learning experience programme for pre-registration healthcare professional (HCP) learners. Greater Manchester Training Hub, Tameside locality health and social care partners and Greater Manchester Universities are piloting the new model.

The programme will see mixed-profession learners working collaboratively in primary, community and social care to gain new experiences in assessing, treating and caring holistically for patients and residents across Tameside.

The programme supports targeting health inequalities and specific concerns across each Primary Care Network locality, targeting Multi-Disciplinary Team days around what is needed to support these health needs and help facilitating correct signposting tasks, to enhance the lives of those patients suffering with the targeted health need.

Unlike conventional learner placements, the Tameside Placement Expansion Project will have a multi-disciplinary focus and will involve learners from a range of HCP backgrounds. The learners will attend a wide variety of placements on a rotational basis, meeting together weekly to complete a multi-disciplinary team project.

All placements are to be focused on exposing learners to the wide range of activity undertaken across primary, community, social care and VCFSE. This is to enable the learners to have holistic understanding of the patient journey, particularly, but not exclusively, in relation to enhancing the quality of life of those with the named health diagnosis. Additionally, having a wider variety of experiences will promote the potential career opportunities across primary, community and social care for a newly qualified health care professional.
