Tameside Medical Education Trust

The Tameside Medical Education Trust (Charitable Incorporated Organisation Number 1168949) was created in the 1970s by GP’s, to provide a fund to spend on the education and wellbeing of Primary Care staff. It is a way that local Primary Care staff in Tameside support each other.

It is a charity which is administered by Tameside Primary Care Trustees, who meet four times a year to discuss projects that we would like to support. The Trustees are Dr Stuart Murray, Sr Eva Richardson and Dr Richard Bircher.

If you would like to be involved please email: richard.bircher@nhs.net

In 2023 and 2024 the Trust funded Red Whale courses for clinical staff. Previously most of our revenue has been donated by drug companies, but with changes in General Medical Council regulations this source of gifts has stopped. We now ask individuals to make donations.

If you would like to donate, you can do so through our Gofundme page.
